The last few days have been really tough on me. I’ve had to make a few decisions in my life that were pretty vital to my happiness. Hits have been dropping like crazy on the site, and it’s been a real struggle for me to try to post anything.

As of yesterday, I was pretty much done with the website. I got an e-mail from my buddy Ryan, and he was asking if I wanted to renew the domain name. At the time, I said no. I’ve been seriously thinking about if I want to continue Mind Inversion. I’ve come to one conclusion… I can’t live without it at this point. It’s so vital to my very being, that I can’t let go. If a better opportunity comes along, I may take it. But for now, Mind Inversion is my home.

I will be posting plenty of new stuff today, stay tuned.

I have found a new home for my writing. Starting very soon I will be writing for Culture Bully with my good friend Ryan and the rest of the guys. Thank you for the support and I hope you all follow me over there.

Immortal Technique Live @ Amoeba Music (Interview x Performance)

Posted in Media, Video with tags , , , , on Monday, September 28, 2009 by Tim Althaus

Here is some great footage of Immortal Technique. As many of you have probably know, this dude is extremely intelligent and his performances are some of the most passionate I’ve ever seen. In the interview he chops it up about in-store performances, how long he’s been rhyming for (and why), Mumia Abu-Jamal, Viper Records & major labels, and Project Greenlight. Follow me after the jump to watch his 30 + minute performance. Read more »

I would have posted this yesterday, but my body was in a state of straight shut-down from Oktoberfest. 2DopeBoyz posted the snippets of Street Hop, which is being hosted by Amazon. I am listening to this as we speak, and it sounds like Royce has a fucking gem on his hands. If you don’t bother to take notice of this one you should be shanked in the side with a blunt and rusty object. You can pre-order Street Hop here. October 20th…

Elzhi Spits it A Cappella Style

Posted in Media, Video with tags , , , on Monday, September 28, 2009 by Tim Althaus

This is the shit that I’m talking about. If you haven’t heard of Elzhi, you might as well have been sleeping under a rock. This guy is so good at what he does, there really aren’t many emcees in the game that can touch this dude. I personally would probably put him in my top 3 emcees right now without a doubt. Slum Village recently did a show out in LA, and this A Cappella is just a nice little snippet of the skill that El possesses.

Brother Ali, Evidence, Toki Wright & BK-One, “Freshest Kids” (Track Download x Video)

Posted in Audio, Downloads, Media, Video with tags , , , , , on Sunday, September 27, 2009 by Tim Althaus

First of all, let me start off by saying that “Freshest Kids” might be the track of the year. This shit is just plain ridiculous. I posted a video of Brother Ali & Toki recording this track a little while back, and this is the finished product. The beat on this track is incredible and all three emcees spits verses so hot it might leave your ears with third degree burns. I gotta give it up to BK-One, he’s concocted one of the best beats I’ve heard this year with this track. I’m bowing to these guys right now. And to think, they only recorded this track just for the tour… make sure you catch these guys when they come to your city, it’s going to be one hell of a show.

Alchemist Talks: Chemical Warfare, Step Brothers, Hats & Ping Pong

Posted in Media, Video with tags , , , , on Friday, September 25, 2009 by Tim Althaus

Man, every time Alchemist says something he makes me laugh my ass off. He’s probably one of the funniest guys in Hip-Hop. You should definitely watch this one for a few good laughs. AL talks about his new album Chemical Warfare (in stores now), his collaboration with Evidene (Step Brothers), the hats that he wears in the game & how he is ridiculous at ping pong. Fucking love it.

Aloe Blacc Talks About The “Very First Time”

Here is another track from the multi-talented Aloe Blacc. This time the track is called “Very First Time”, and he also produced the beat for this track. From what I read a while back, Aloe is working on a lot of new material right now. He will be putting out his own solo album, and he will be releasing another album with Exile (as Emanon) sometime in the future. Don’t sleep on this guy.

Fashawn, Boy Meets World (Artwork & Tracklisting)

Posted in Music News with tags , , , , , on Friday, September 25, 2009 by Tim Althaus

Boy Meets World

Here’s an album that is way off of the hype meter for me. October 20th can not come soon enough. As I’ve mentioned at least 15 times, Fashawn’s album Boy Meets World comes out next month. Chances are, it is going to be one of the best debuts I’ve ever heard. The album is produced entirely by Exile, and it features Evidence, Blu, Aloe Blacc and more. Make sure you go out and cop this album. Support real Hip-Hop. Follow me after the jump for the tracklisting. Read more »
